Earth Day Difference

Happy Earth Day! We have been busy being a friend of the Earth today with a few melt-downs but nothing flowers can't fix! We headed to Home Depot and I let Adie pick out her favorite flowers so we could bring them home to plant them! She would have brought one of each home with us if I let her and she even made friends with the little old man that helped us followed by throwing a tantrum on the way to the car in the middle of the parking lot! #naptime Stopped by our favorite Whole Foods and Adie is obsessed with throwing anything she think she needs into the basket so I let her put cookies in there this time but she chucked them into the cart which made the lid pop open and cookies went everywhere! Totally how our day has gone but now she is napping and I think little stud is too wild for a nap! I found this eco-friendly toy that's just perfect and you can see more eco-friendly finds here

A few ways you can celebrate Earth Day with your little babes:

1. Decorate a reusable tote bag. Mother's Day is coming up and this would be perfect for Grandma!
2. Reuse materials for arts and crafts and let them be creative
3. Plant a fruit or vegetable garden. I am all about a salsa garden.
4. Go on an Earth Day scavenger hunt. Flowers, pine cones, leaves, rocks and sticks.
5. Pick up trash in your neighborhood.
6. Sort and separate recyclables. Totally can make that a learning game!
7. And just be outside, looking at clouds, listening to birds and enjoying getting kissed from the sun.

Five Earth Day switches that will help your body and I love!

1. Ditch the plastic water bottles. This is huge for me and I am committed to making the change. Avoid BPA and help the environment by switching to reusable stainless steel or glass, hel-lo lulu lemon water bottles that I have never used! Plus they are freaking much cuter!
2. Buy organic and ditch the GMO's! Eat healthy and be healthy! Try this amazing salad!!!
3. Switch to an all natural home cleaning product! We love these ones!
4. Cut back your meat consumption! According to Environmental Working Group, if everyone in the United States didn't eat meat or cheese for just one day per week, it would be like taking 7.6 million cars off the road.
5. Walk ... obviously. There's no better way to reduce your carbon footprint then to get out and make an actual footprint instead of a tire track. When you can, take the high road less traveled and not only will you be helping the environment, you'll be helping your waistline, your heart and your mind.
